Diodes Corporation patented ACF topology solution for cost-effective and efficient implementation of key efficiency improvement methods, suitable for high-power density charger high-voltage startup and low standby power (<80mW), compliant with DOE VI and COC Tier 2 efficiency requirements USB Type-C port - Supports maximum output 140W PD3.1 function and AVS 28V with a step size of 100mV. It is implemented using SSR topology of optocoupler to achieve precise step voltage control and low overall system BOM cost.


The 140W ACF PD3.1 EPR (28V) evaluation board consists of three main controllers: AP3306, APR3401 and AP43771H. The AP3306 is a highly integrated active clamp flyback (ACF) controller designed for offline power supply, meeting ultra-low standby power, high power density and comprehensive protection requirements. The APR3401 is a secondary-side synchronous rectification (SR) controller. The AP43771H is a protocol decoder responsible for matching the associated charger capacity and requests through a connected USB Type-C® equipped charging device (DUC), regulating the charger's feedback network to meet the voltage and current requirements of the DUC. In addition, gallium nitride (GaN) FETs are used to further improve efficiency and thermal performance.

Typically, DC power comes from an AC power supply or a battery. Rechargeable batteries are charged via AC charger or adapter. Based on isolated flyback and non-isolated high voltage buck regulators for the high-volume market, we have developed a variety of high-efficiency and cost-effective AC-DC controllers, switches and related IC chips for primary-side applications. and secondary side adjustment. These regulators are suitable for a variety of power supply applications, including traditional chargers, fast chargers, small home appliances, mid-power set-top boxes and networking systems.
